Sound quality is very good. Picture quality is not perfect, but pretty good considering the source material. LaserLight decided to omit the annoying translucent logo seen in the bottom right corner of their Volume 1 disc. All of the episodes are uncut and the original theme song is used. For some reason, the original recording of the theme is used in only three episodes while a re-recording of the same tune is used in two. All things considered, this DVD is a great value.
**Note:
There is an error on the packaging and on the disc itself. The episode listed as The Loaded Goat is actually High Noon In Mayberry which is a bit annoying because High Noon is on LaserLight's Volume 1 disc. |

As with Volume 2, LaserLight decided to omit the annoying translucent logo seen in the bottom right corner of their Volume 1 disc. All of the episodes are uncut and the original theme song is used. Only the Barney's First Car episode has the re-recording of the same tune. This disc is yet another great value from LaserLight. I just wish that Class Reunion and/ or The Loaded Goat could have been included to complete the public domain series of episodes. Oh well.

Sound and picture quality on these discs is very good. There are no major scratches on the film prints as seen on some other discs. Every episode is complete and uncut. The original theme music is used on every show and there are no company logos embedded on the image to distract you. Basically, you get all 16 public domain episodes, uncut, with decent picture and sound quality in one 2-disc set. They are simply the best DVDs of these episodes available until they are officially released by Paramount.

Every episode is complete and uncut, however the original theme music has been replaced with a different tune. Even with these flaws, the nice thing about this DVD is the vintage commercials. Placed between the episodes, they make this fair looking disc seem a bit better. The Post Cereals/ General Foods commercials are the best as they actually feature characters from The Andy Griffith Show.
